Colorful Children's Art

Art Counselling offers integrative therapeutic support for young children and adolescents navigating emotional, behavioural, relational, and mental health challenges.

Working collaboratively with schools, families -  sessions are tailored to support emotional regulation, self-expression, resilience, and wellbeing.

I believe every child and young person deserves a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space in which to express themselves, navigate the world around them, and develop a sense of connection and belonging.

As each individual communicates and experiences emotions differently,

this service offers creative and developmentally attuned ways of working that support expression beyond words alone.

Sessions may incorporate:

  • drawing, painting, clay

  • craft

  • sensory and kniesthetic approaches

  • storytelling

  • nature-based and movement

Through an integrative and trauma-informed approach, I aim to create spaces where young people can safely express, explore, reflect, and build greater understanding of themselves and their experiences.

Who This Support Is For

children, adolescents, and young adults navigating emotional, relational, behavioural, and mental health challenges.

This may include young people experiencing:

  • Anxiety, overwhelm, or emotional dysregulation

  • Low mood, depression, or withdrawal

  • ADHD, neurodivergence, or sensory overwhelm

  • Friendship difficulties, bullying, or isolation

  • Anger, frustration, or difficulties expressing emotions

  • Grief, trauma, family change, or significant life transitions

Support is tailored to each young person’s emotional needs, developmental stage, strengths, and ways of communicating.

Some young people may prefer talking, while others communicate more comfortably through creativity, movement, sensory exploration, or play-based approaches.

What I offer

One to One

Individual sessions offer a safe and supportive space for children to explore emotions, experiences, and challenges through creativity, play, and connection with the natural world.

Sessions are tailored to each child’s unique needs, supporting emotional wellbeing, self-expression, and resilience.

Group Sessions

Therapeutic group sessions are designed around specific themes identified within the school community, such as emotional regulation, anxiety, self-esteem, friendships, or transitions.

Through creative and nature-based approaches, groups encourage connection, reflection, confidence, and shared learning in a supportive environment.

Staff and Parents

Psychoeducational workshops offer parents, carers, and staff a deeper understanding of children’s emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and development through a trauma-informed and creative lens. Sessions provide practical tools, reflective space, and supportive strategies to help strengthen relationships and emotional support around the child.
